Cape Coral motorcyclist dies in crash on Nicholas Parkway
CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A motorcyclist died in a crash on Nicholas Parkway West and SW 11th Street on Wednesday, officials said.
Officers with the Cape Coral Police Department arrived to the scene just after noon.
The biker, Tyler Harris, 20, was heading west on Nicholas Parkway when a car pulled out in front of him, officers said.
Matthew Cain was driving his car southwest on SW 11th Street towards Nicolas Parkway. He told officers that he didn’t see any approaching traffic and started to make a left turn onto Nicholas Parkway.
The biker slammed into the front left tire of the car, officers said. The crash caused Harris to separate from his bike, slide over the hood of the car, and fall into the median, police said.
Rescue crews arrived and attempted CPR on Harris, but he was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Cain was not injured in the crash.
It’s not known if drugs, alcohol or speeding were a factor in the crash, officers said.
