Naples man to spend 18 months in prison for investment scam

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A former Naples resident has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for his role in an investment scam, officials said. Richard Leli is was offering investments in his Naples-based company, SW Florida’s Finest Tire and Auto, LLC, and didn’t follow through with promised returns. Leli convinced his victims to invest by persuading them that their money would supply the company with enough funds to lease a business space and purchase necessary machinery. Microsoft urges Windows users to update immediately in security warning

Microsoft is urging Windows users to immediately install an update after security researchers found a serious vulnerability in the operating system. The security flaw, known as PrintNightmare, affects the Windows Print Spooler service, CNN reports. GM recalls Chevy, GMC pickups due to possibility of side airbags exploding

DETROIT (AP) — General Motors is recalling more than 400,000 pickup trucks in the U.S. because the side airbags can explode without warning and spew parts into the cabin. The recall covers certain 2015 and 2016 Chevrolet and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks, The Associated Press reports. US safety regulators’ documents said the airbag inflator can rupture or the end cap can fly off on both sides of the trucks. NBC NEWS — Attorney Michael Avenatti was sentenced to 2.5 years by a federal judge on Thursday after attempting to extort tens of millions of dollars from Nike.
