Doorbell camera catches ding dong ditcher setting off fireworks on strangers doorstep
GOLDEN GATE ESTATES, Fla. — It’s not uncommon to hear fireworks in the middle of the night during Independence Day weekend, but having one go off right on your doorstep sure is bizarre.
“It is the Fourth of July they do have fireworks. It is legal, but you don’t do in front of someone’s doorstep,” Bobby Kelly said, after hearing that his neighbor woke up to a video, which shows a person ringing her door ball then running off to light a firework in her yard.
“If he were to come to my home and do that, it would be pretty scary for my wife, grandson dog, myself & my neighborhood,” Kelly said.
The NBC2 viewer who sent us the doorbell video didn’t want to be shown on camera but said they were not the only ones targeted by the firework fanatic.
Other neighbors who live nearby said they were surprised when they heard what happened. They said that those responsible should be held accountable.
“I think they need to learn and the only way learning is pressing charges,” neighbor Maydelyn Lopez said.
