Forecast: Another unsettled afternoon

Though conditions start off fairly quiet, rounds of rain are expected again into the afternoon.

Scattered coverage will be found into the late afternoon and early evening hours with isolated strong storms possible. Highs will be limited again with many areas only reaching the upper 80s.

Heading into the holiday weekend, winds will shift onshore allowing for a much drier coastal outlook for Saturday and Sunday.

Inland areas will still experience isolated showers and storms each afternoon. Highs will bounce back into the low to mid 90s.

Beyond that, all eyes are on Tropical Depression Five. The system has winds sustained at 35 mph and is expected to become our next tropical storm.

The system is moving west very quickly at around 25 mph. As of now, Southwest Florida is in the long-range forecast cone. The NBC2 First Alert Hurricane Tracking Team will keep you updated on-air and online.
