Forecast: Back to normal as Elsa lets go of SWFL

Elsa has finally lost its grip on our weather as we get back to more typical weather for early July in Southwest Florida.

Expect sunny weather this morning along with plenty of warmth and humidity. Temperatures will reach the upper 80s by noon and top out in the lower 90s during the heat of the day.

We’ll track some scattered rain and storms after 2 p.m. today, but the best chance of rain today will be away from the beach and east of the interstate.

Aside from a few lingering showers tonight, plan on a quiet and clear evening as temperatures cool down into the mid-70s.

We stay in the weather pattern for the foreseeable future with lots of sunshine to enjoy but watch out for those scattered storms in the afternoon.

Now that Elsa is out of the picture for us, the rest of the tropics are quiet, and no development is expected in the next five days.
