Forecast: Dry start with scattered storms this afternoon

The NBC2 First Alert Weather Team has issued a Severe Weather First Alert through Saturday, July 10.


Heat and humidity dominate the forecast this weekend with feels like temperatures reaching the triple digits into the afternoon.

Highs will top off in the low 90s today with plenty of sunshine around. With winds out of the east, the afternoon seabreeze will creep into some coastal communities with the best chance of rain mainly after noon. 

Overnight conditions will remain mostly dry with temperatures falling down into the seasonal mid-70s. Mostly dry conditions are expected heading into Sunday morning with another round of afternoon showers and storms on the way. 

As for the tropics, no tropical development is expected over the next five days.
