Forecast: Strong to severe storms possible today

An NBC2 Severe Weather First Alert is in effect for Monday for the potential to see a few strong to severe storms in the afternoon

Heading into the late afternoon and evening, strong to severe storms will target Southwest Florida. The main threats will be strong winds, heavy rain, small hail and frequent lightning. Along coastal areas, isolated flooding is a concern.

Be sure to have a way to receive weather alerts as most of Southwest Florida is under a slight risk for severe weather today. Heading into tonight, stray showers and storms will prevail this evening with overnight lows falling back down into the mid-70s.

More rounds of showers and storms in the forecast for tomorrow afternoon. Highs will bounce back to the low to mid 90s with feels like temperatures in the triple digits.
