Former law enforcement officer arrested for child pornography in Hendry County
HENDRY COUNTY, Fla.– Hendry County deputies arrested a former law enforcement officer for child pornography charges.
The Hendry County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant for 44-year-old John Goodman’s home on Thursday.
Goodman was under investigation after he sent pornographic pictures of a pre-teen female. He was actually messaging an undercover agent.
Officials said the agent and Goodman were chatting on the KIK app. After going over the conversation, law enforcement was able to identify Goodman.
Goodman was working at the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office. He started as a correctional officer in 2000 and was reassigned to road patrol in 2001. He was fired in 2002 for ‘moral character standards’ according to officials.
Deputies arrested Goodman and transported him to Hendry County Jail. He is being held on charges of the distribution of child pornography and using a minor in the production of pornography.
