Lee County deputies shock speeders with “Enforcement Surprise”

LEE COUNTY, Fla.– If you’re driving in Lee County, beware of deputies cracking down on traffic violations.

Drivers are getting pulled over for speeding and running red lights, just ahead of the busy holiday weekend. The penalties are a little different than what any driver would expect and it’s catching many people off guard.

Deputies are pulling people over and rather than handing them a ticket, they’re handing them a cookie instead. Drivers who are receiving them quickly breathe a sigh of relief at the sight of a chocolate cookie as opposed to a traffic citation.

Deputies want to offer a friendly reminder to obey traffic rules without facing a citation or warning.

The cookies are baked by inmates at the Lee County Jail. It’s part of “Enforcement Surprise”.
