Pickup truck driver flees after causing fiery San Carlos Park crash
LEE COUNTY, Fla. — Law enforcement is looking for the person accused of causing a crash in San Carlos Park and then leaving the scene, officials said.
Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the crash on San Carlos Boulevard, east of Pine Road, just after 4 a.m. on Sunday, July 4.
Two Fort Myers men, age 27 and 30, were heading east on San Carlos Boulevard when a pickup truck swerved into their lane and slammed into the front of their car.
The Fort Myers men told troopers that their car erupted into flames and that the pickup truck driver fled the scene. The pickup truck is described as a black Ford F150 with yellow fog lights.
Anyone with information on this crash is urged to call FHP or the SWFL Crime Stoppers.
