SOUTHWEST FLORIDA — The Fourth of July holiday is coming up this weekend, and Southwest Florida has its fair share of fireworks and holiday events.

Here’s a list of events happening over the Fourth of July weekend:

Lee County

Freedom 5K
  1. When: 7 a.m. on Sunday, July 4
  2. Where: Cape Coral Bridge

The Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral presents the Priority Business Solutions Freedom 5K Run/Walk & Gunterberg Charitable Foundation Kid’s Fun Run. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Brotherhood of Heroes and the Special Operations Communicators Association. Registration will be at 6 a.m. for the event. Interested participants may sign up and learn additional information here

Red White & Boom!
  1. When: 5-10 p.m. Sunday, July 4
  2. Where: Downtown Cape Coral, right before the Cape Coral Parkway Bridge

Be sure to bring your lawn chairs to enjoy the fireworks spectacular at this free event! Live entertainment, food and snack vendors and fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

National Anthem:

The American Fireworks Spectacular is a musically synchronized display.  The music can be heard at the stage, on Cat Country 107.1, or download the iHeart app and log into Cat Country 107.1 and listen on your phone. Watch as over 4,000 shells explode in the sky of Cape Coral to celebrate the birth of our great nation.

Freedom Fest
  1. When: 6-10 p.m. on Sunday, July 4
  2. Where: Downtown Fort Myers

This event promises to be fun for the entire family! Enjoy live music from Thunder Beach Band, food trucks, vendors, and fireworks that will be shot off of Lofton Island on the Caloosahatchee River at approximately 9 p.m.

4th of July Fireworks

  2. Where: Off the Fort Myers Beach Pier
Star Spangled Bonita Laser & Fireworks
  1. When: Dusk on Sunday, July 4
  2. Where: Riverside Park in Bonita Springs
Fireworks Blowout!

  2. Where: Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers

Collier County

Gulf Coast Runners 2021 Firecracker 5K Run/Walk
  1. When: 7 a.m. on Saturday, July 3
  2. Where: Fleishmann Park, 1600 Fleischmann Blvd. in Naples
  3. Registration closes July 2 at 10:59 p.m.

It’s a double-loop course through Lakes Park. After the race is the 20th annual Freedom Swim that starts at 11 a.m., organizers said. Attendees can meet on the beach next to the 8th Avenue North Parking Lot. Walk a mile south, get in the water, sing the National Anthem with gusto then swim one mile north.

Naples 4th of July Parade
  1. When: 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 3
  2. Where: Downtown Naples

The parade will start on Broad Avenue South at 3rd Street South heading north on 3rd Street South to 5th Avenue South, south on 8th Street ending on 8th Avenue South.

Street Closures will be in place starting at 7:30 a.m. in these areas:

  • Broad Ave. from 8th Street South to 3rd Street South
  • 3rd Street South from Broad Avenue to 5th Avenue South
  • 5th Ave. South from 2nd Street South to 9th Street South
  • 8th Street South from 5th Avenue South to Broad Avenue South
Collier County Presents a Country Appreciation Concert
  1. When: 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 3
  2. Where: Paradise Coast Sports Complex, 3940 City Gate Boulevard North in Naples

The concert features The Ben Allen Band lead by “The Voice” finalist Ben Allen. A variety of food trucks will be on site for the event, and adult beverages will be available for purchase. Gates open at 6 p.m. with live music beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets for this evening of entertainment starts at $10 for general admission, with reserved and floor seating options available.

Fourth of July Fireworks
  1. When: 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 4
  2. Where; Off the Naples Pier
Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration
  1. When: 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 4
  2. Where: Sugden Regional Park in Naples

  2. Where: Off the coast between Tigertail Beach and South Beach on Marco Island

Charlotte County

“An American Holiday – Stars, Stripes & Fireworks!”
  1. When: 12-9 p.m. on Saturday, July 3
  2. Where: Fishermen’s Village, 1200 W Retta Esplanade in Punta Gorda

Food trucks, mermaid meet and greet, bounce house/playland/jungle run, military display, entertainment like juggling acts, magic show and balloon artists, as well as live music. Organizers said they will end the night with fireworks at 9 p.m.

“The Celebrate America Concert”
  1. When: 5-10 p.m. on Saturday, July 3
  2. Where: Laishley Park, 150 Laishley Court in Punta Gorda

Live music directly from Nashville. Here from the Jack Michael Band and the Flying Buffaloes. The headliner is Nashville recording star Josh Gracin.

Big Ship Music Festival
  1. When : 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 3
  2. Where: Charlotte County Fairgrounds, 2333 El Jobean Road in port Charlotte
  3. Gates open at Noon

The first night of the two-night festival features a variety of musicians and bands. Tickets are available at Eventbrite.com and all ticket outlets.

Freedom Swim
  1. When: 12 p.m. on Sunday, July 4
  2. Where: The starting point is the east side of the Barron Collier Bridge’s north end (on the Charlotte Harbor side of the Peace River)

Celebrate Independence Day by swimming the 1.5-mile river from Charlotte Harbor to Punta Gorda. Hundreds will participate and an equal number or more will watch. You can swim using a raft or a noodle or another flotation device. No registration necessary; pre-swim briefing will be at around 11:45 a.m.

Independence Day Celebration
  1. When: 12-9 p.m. on Sunday, July 4

Punta Gorda’s annual holiday festival and fireworks. This festival is a celebration of the United States with nonstop entertainment for the entire family. This year’s event features Water-Mania, a group of 12 giant waterslides which will be located in Laishley Park. There will be slides of all types and sizes for all ages. Fireworks will start at 9p.m. and gates and waterslides open at 2:00 p.m.

  • 7:00 p.m. – presentation of colors by Charlotte High NJROTC – National Anthem

Hendry County

Red, White & Tunes
  1. When: 4-9 p.m. on Sunday, July 4
  2. Where: Barron Park, 1559 DeSoto Avenue in LaBelle

Cheer on the participants of the Not-Quite-Midnight run/Walk of Paul Revere at 7 p.m. The Run/Walk begins at the LaBelle Nature Park Captain Hendry House, located at 440 Fraser Ave, LaBelle. Enjoy live music, vendors and fireworks at 9 p.m.

DeSoto County

4th of July Celebration
  1. When: Around 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 4
  2. Where: Turner Agri-Civic Center
