Suspects involved in deadly Lehigh Acres shooting still on the run
Dozens of cars rode through the streets of Fort Myers on Saturday to remind the public of the justice they’re looking for.
Two suspects involved in the shooting death of Jairo Oropeza have yet to be arrested.
“No one knows anything. It’s frustrating and we’re all angry. We want to know,” Yanis Oropeza, Jairo’s sister, said.
Friends and family are reclaiming the crime scene by filling it with flowers and candles. Now, they’re raising money to buy the land.
“Since he was a car guy we were thinking of making it into a car meet space where it’s a huge parking lot and they have a good time here,” Yanis said.
Loved ones said that they can’t rest until they have answers.
“Who did it? Why? I want him in a room so they can pay for what they did. I want justice for my brother,” Eduardo Aviles, Jairo’s close friend, said.
The suspects were last seen driving a 2010 to 2015 black Hyundai four-door sedan with front-end damage, police said. It might be damaged with bullet holes.
The driver is described as a 5’4? heavyset white female in her 30s with blond hair and freckles. The passenger is described as a black male with dreads and a patchy beard. He has a thin build, stands at about 6? tall, and could be 25 to 30 years old.
Anyone with information on the identities and whereabouts of the suspects can anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). Tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000.
