FORT MYERS, Fla. – An 8-week-old kitten had to be euthanized after a Fort Myers man allegedly injured it on purpose during an argument with his ex-girlfriend. Fort Myers police said Dumetrice Wilson, 48, got into an argument with his ex-girlfriend on Sunday. During the argument, officers said Wilson grabbed the woman’s 8-week-old kitten and intentionally injured it severely. Abandoned dogs found near Clewiston canal with zip ties on their tails

CLEWISTON, Fla.– A good Samaritan makes a disturbing discovery in Clewiston after finding five dogs abandoned near a canal on Wednesday morning. Jamie Wright and Amanda Nelson, who work for the Clewiston Animal Control, said they rushed to Evergreen and Art Lawrence roads in a rural part of Clewiston searching for the puppies. “They dumped a bag of puppy chow and that was it. Naples dog finds loving home after surviving horrific abuse

NAPLES, Fla. – After living through horrific abuse and neglect, one Naples dog is being adopted by his foster family. In April, a dog named Markus was saved when 48-year-old Rodrigo Ochoa was arrested for neglecting four of his dogs for two years. Fort Myers woman arrested after locking dog in bathroom for days

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – A Fort Myers woman was arrested for an animal abuse charge after investigators said she locked a dog in a bathroom for days. Jonteria Haugabook, 27, was booked into the Lee County jail Monday. The dog in her care, Queen, sustained chemical burns on her paws from her own urine and feces.
