Some local Catholic schools to require masks for upcoming school year

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – The Diocese of Venice will require masks inside Catholic schools within counties with a 10 percent positivity rate. A letter from the Diocese of Venice Bishop Frank Dewane was sent Thursday evening announcing the plan for the coming school year. The Diocese said masks will be required temporarily while indoors at Catholic schools in a county with a 10 percent positivity rate or greater. Florida parents sue Catholic school for being too ‘woke’

TAMPA, Fla. – A Florida couple is suing a Catholic school and demanding the return of a large donation, saying it isn’t adhering to Catholic values because of the way it’s handling issues like race and accepting the LGBTQ community. Anthony and Barbara Scarpo filed their lawsuit against the Academy of the Holy Names last month after one of their daughters graduated and a second transferred to another school, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
