DESOTO COUNTY, Fla. – A Charlotte County fugitive was taken into custody in DeSoto County. The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office said its Special Operations Unit assisted the US Marshals Task Force. They apprehended one of the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office’s Top 10 Most Wanted Fugitives Jewel Lynn Faith Klein. Klein was detained by DeSoto County deputies on an island on the Peace River. Fort Myers man arrested for speeding, clocked at 125 mph

PUNTA GORDA, Fla.–A Fort Myers man was arrested after he was clocked driving 125 mph in a 60 mph zone.  The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office say 26-year-old Brandon Monatague was driving on State Route 31 on Thursday when deputies clocked him on radar.  “That’s excessive and dangerous and stupid,” said Monatague’s neighbor Brandi Dustan. Two men arrested in catalytic converter theft in Charlotte County

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. – Two men were arrested for stealing a catalytic converter in Charlotte County. Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office deputies said Andy Manuh Flores Herrera and Yordan Carreras Cespedes were both arrested after confessing to the catalytic converter thefts and selling them. Deputies responded to a business on Tamiami Trail in South Punta Gorda after a catalytic converter was reported stolen. The catalytic converter was cut and removed from a Ford Excursion.
