Venice couple arrested after child overdoses on cocaine

SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. – A Venice couple was arrested on child neglect charges after a 21-month-old in their care ingested cocaine. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said Kaitlyn Van Dorn and Blake Pavey were arrested Saturday. Deputies were initially called on Jan. 8 to a Venice home along Park Road to assist the Sarasota County Fire Department on a medical call. DOJ: Fort Myers cocaine trafficker to spend 11 years in prison

FORT MYERS, Fla. — A 36-year-old Fort Myers man who was planning on selling more than 500 grams of cocaine was sentenced to 11 years in federal prison, officials said. ISLAMORADA, Fla. (AP) — Packages of cocaine keep washing ashore the Florida Keys. The most recent packages washed up on Wednesday and Thursday on the Islamorada shoreline.
