CAPE CORAL, Fla.– With more people flocking to Cape Coral, the demand for construction is high. Some sites are facing delays. CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — Motorists in Charlotte County might notice some delays until June 23. Construction is happening in the southbound Kings Highway from Midway Boulevard to Olean Boulevard every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Warning signs for the construction will be posted, so plan ahead if you’re traveling through the area. Two arrested for breaking into Lee County home under construction

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Two people were arrested for breaking into a home that was under construction in Lee County. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said Yadira Labrada Mompie, 35, and Anyel Contino, 38, were both arrested on Friday. An off-duty deputy with LCSO saw a suspicious car near Acroft Avenue and Butte Street, according to LCSO. He recognized the car as one involved in a home burglary in April, so he monitored it and notified the sheriff’s office. Construction worker flown to hospital after beam collapses in Collier County

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – A construction worker was flown to the hospital after a beam collapsed Saturday. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office said deputies are investigating a residential construction accident on 40th Avenue SE in Golden Gate Estates. The worker was flown to Lee Memorial using Medflight, according to witnesses. The worker was on the beam when it collapsed, according to CCSO.
