NAPLES, Fla.– A U.S. Army soldier from Naples pleaded guilty to premeditated murder Monday in connection to the death of his estranged wife as his trial was about to begin, reported local NBC affiliate Hawaii News Now. FORT MYERS, Fla. — The father of Layla Aiken pleaded guilty to robbery and possession of a bulletproof vest on Wednesday morning. Glenn Aiken, 36, is accused of robbing a bank located at 8690 Gladiolus Drive on November 27. He got away with $960, according to an arrest report. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A former Naples resident has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for his role in an investment scam, officials said. Richard Leli is was offering investments in his Naples-based company, SW Florida’s Finest Tire and Auto, LLC, and didn’t follow through with promised returns. LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A Fort Myers man accused of animal cruelty was arrested after allegedly injuring his family dog, officials said. Jose Hernandez-Rivera, 28, is accused of hitting his family’s dog with a broomstick because he was mad at it for barking, deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said. After getting hit, the dog was unable to put weight on her leg because it was broken, deputies said. NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla.– Lee County deputies arrested a man in connection to a stabbing that took place Saturday night in North Fort Myers. Ryan Armstrong, 28, is facing charges of aggravated battery, fleeing from law enforcement, and vehicle theft. Man leads Collier deputies on highspeed chase through Naples

NAPLES, Fla. — The driver of a black Toyota sedan hit the gas on Golden Gate Parkway instead of pulling over when Collier County deputies tried to pull him over. Florida man convicted for stealing over $230K from relative with dementia

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A Tampa man was sentenced to 25 years in prison after he was convicted of stealing over $230,000 from a vulnerable elderly relative. Victor Hawkins was found guilty by a jury of stealing the money from his 77-year-old relative who had been diagnosed with dementia, according to the Office of Attorney General Ashley Moody. In addition to stealing the money, Hawkins also managed to swindle the elderly man out of his home and evict the man’s wife from it, a news release states. LEE COUNTY, Fla. — After tying the knot, a Lehigh Acres groom spent his wedding night in the Lee County Jail after getting aggressive with his guests.
