North Port woman sentenced to 13 years for deadly crash after spring training game

NORTH PORT, Fla. – A North Port woman was sentenced to 13 years in prison for causing a deadly crash after a Braves 2019 spring training game. Samantha King also got 17 years of probation along with the prison sentence for two counts of DUI manslaughter and DUI with property damage, according to court documents. LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — A Texas man faces three counts of DUI serious bodily injury, four counts of DUI property damage, and a single charge of DUI personal injury to another after a crash in Lehigh Acres on Sunday, officials said. Empty beer bottles found near crashed car in Collier, driver arrested

Collier Deputies responded to a car crashed in a ditch at Jefferson Ave on Thursday. According to officials, when they arrived on scene two empty Corona bottles were found on the grass near the passenger door of the white Nissan. Law enforcement also found an open Corona in the back seat. The driver was identified as 22-year-old Juan Velasquez. He has been arrested and is facing a DUI charge. Drunk driver jumps curb in Cape Coral before slamming into tree

CAPE CORAL, Fla.– A motorist failed to safely make a turn in a Cape Coral roundabout, jumping a curb on Sunday evening.   Cape Coral Police said 65-year-old Richard Dennis Robbins of Indiana was in the roundabout on Viscaya Parkway near Southeast 24th Avenue.  He hopped the curb and crashed into a tree, knocking it over. CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Officers with the Cape Coral Police Department arrested two people for driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance during a DUI detail on Saturday night. Troopers: Drunk man says truck swerved because it was ‘struck by lightning’

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – A man told troopers during a traffic stop in Collier County that he was driving erratically because his truck was “struck by lightning,” according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.
