NORTH PORT, Fla.- A former North Port city employee said a complaint was filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for workplace discrimination based on race and retaliation.
According to David Williams, a former Solid Waste Division truck driver, the complaint was filed more than 2 years ago but could wrap up in the next few weeks.
Williams alleges a co-worker asked him to unload a specific truck in March 2019. When he stepped inside the work vehicle, he said an auxiliary cord was fixed into a noose.
