COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – A petition to open an emergency exit on and off of I-75 near Golden Gate Estates is gaining attention online.
There’s a proposal to change an emergency exit off Everglades Boulevard and Alligator Alley into a public interchange. It could be the lifeline the people in Golden Gate Estates desperately want. But the project has been put in park for over a decade.
In 2009, former Collier County Commissioner Jim Coletta pushed the project to the forefront.
