CNN — Bitcoin prices continue to make a comeback Monday, rising to about $59,000. But the world’s largest cryptocurrency has been largely overshadowed by its younger sibling, Ethereum.
Ethereum hit a new record high of about $3,200 on Monday. It’s prices have more than quadrupled in 2021, soaring 325%.
While there are thousands of cryptocurrencies — including the Elon Musk tweet-fueled Dogecoin — Bitcoin and Ethereum account for nearly two-thirds of the entire $2.3 trillion global crypto market.
