FGCU invites 2020 graduates back for in-person Grad Walk

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University is inviting its 2020 graduates to come back for a Grad Walk. The Grad Walk for the Class of 2020 will be held on the first weekend in August at Alico Arena, according to FGCU. The university said the Spring 2021 Grad Walk was a success, and they wanted to offer a similar opportunity for the graduates to return and mark the milestome – this time in-person. FORT MYERS, Fla. — For the first time in six years, the FGCU golf team will have a representative at an NCAA tournament. The hot streak started at the Old Corkscrew Golf Course and the Eagle’s one and only home tournament this season. The momentum carried over to the ASUN Championship Georgia. FGCU researchers come closer to installing artificial reef in Gulf

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA – Florida Gulf Coast University researchers are getting closer to installing an artificial reef in the Gulf of Mexico. They’ve already been approved by the state to put 18 concrete culverts 30 feet below the surface. Researchers have 11 acres of land they can use about eight miles off the coast of Wiggins Pass. Pfizer looking to drop age requirement to include anyone 12+

FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Pfizer coronavirus vaccine is currently available to anyone 16 and up, but that could change soon. Pfizer has applied for Emergency Use Authorization to allow anyone as young as 12 to get vaccinated. That could be approved by the FDA next week.
