Lee commissioners contract two companies for flooding mitigation projects

SAN CARLOS PARK, Fla. – The Lee Board of County Commissioners contracted two companies to work on flooding mitigation projects.  The county started to form a 3-phase plan to fix this problem after significant flooding in August 2017 followed by Hurricane Irma that September. North Port sees concerning levels of flooding after Elsa brings large amount of rain

NORTH PORT, Fla. – North Port is seeing concerning levels of flooding after Hurricane Elsa brought a significant amount of rain to the city. The city is asking residents in areas prone to flooding to consider voluntary evacuations as quickly as possible. Officials said many roads in impacted areas won’t be passable. Cape Coral residents struggle with flooding before Hurricane Elsa

CAPE CORAL, Fla. — People living in parts of Cape Coral are struggling with flooding and standing water ahead of Hurricane Elsa.  Caitlin Shepherd says her neighbor called her on Thursday, saying her trash cans were floating down the street.  “I got home and the whole street was flooded,” Shepherd said. “My driveway, half my driveway was underwater. Half my yard was underwater. Officials work to prevent future flooding in Lee County

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Heavy flooding took over the Island Park neighborhood, not once, but twice back in 2017.  “It was pretty flooded. Some areas were worse than others. Particularly in the intersection here, there could be as much as a foot of water.
