FORT MYERS, Fla. – Local medical professionals look back over a year since the COVID-19 pandemic began recalling trying times.
“It started in March. We received our first covid patient,” said Linda Odnoha, Gulf Coast Medical Center’s ICU Director. “We started getting more and more patients.”
Beds at Gulf Coast Medical Center in South Fort Myers were filled with coronavirus patients.
“I think I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t stressed or that our staff wasn’t stressed,” said ICU Supervisor at Gulf Coast Medical Center, Betsy Groendyk.
