Large plume of brown water from Elsa seen moving into the Gulf of Mexico

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Discolored water from Tropical Storm Elsa was seen over the Gordon River in Naples as it meets the Gulf of Mexico. The same thing is happening in Lee County. Fireball erupting from Gulf of Mexico caused by rupture in underwater gas pipeline

MEXICO CITY / AP — Mexico’s state-owned oil company suffered a rupture in an underwater gas pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico, sending flames boiling up to the surface, officials said. Fire control boats were sent to the site to pump water over the flames, Petroleos Mexicanos said. The company, also referred to as Pemex, said nobody was injured in the incident in the offshore Ku-Maloob-Zaap field. The leak happened early Friday morning about 150 yards from a drilling platform.
