LEE COUNTY, Fla.– People living in a Lee County homeless camp say they were told to pack up and move out. The camp is behind the Hancock Square shopping plaza off of Route 41 in North Fort Myers.
According to people living in the camp, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office broke the news to them on Tuesday.
This isn’t the first time they’ve been asked to move from the property but it could be the last. The clock is ticking for them to vacate the grassy area behind the empty plaza. Not a single store is open in the shopping center.
