BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Lightning struck a car on westbound I-75 on Monday morning. Florida Highway Patrol responded to the incident near mile marker 30.5 just after 11:20 a.m. Troopers said lightning hit a 2018 Nissan Rogue during a heavy rainstorm, damaging the roof antenna and electrical system of the car. The lightning strike also left a 7-foot-long, 4-inch-wide gouge in the pavement on the interstate. The driver of the car, a 48-year-old man from Naples, was not injured. Motorcyclist caught on camera riding hands-free on I-75

NAPLES, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is warning people to drive safe and not distracted after a man was caught on camera riding a motorcycle north on I-75 from Naples without holding on to the handlebars.  Troopers said the video, which was filmed by a person in another vehicle also driving on I-75 also caused concern. I-75 crash in Lee County leaves two injured

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – A crash on I-75 near Corkscrew Road in Lee County left two injured, Florida Highway Patrol troopers confirmed. A pickup truck driver and a woman in the truck had minor injuries after the crash. Troopers said the pickup truck was in an adjacent lane to another car driving south on I-75 in the area. NORTH PORT, Fla. – A man was arrested after driving the wrong way on I-75 in North Port. The North Port Police Department said they caught Anthony Brinzo driving south in the northbound lanes of I-75 this week. Officers said he was driving at a slow rate of speed for about two and a half miles. COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – A Naples man was arrested for trying to run from an I-75 crash that injured two in Collier County. Brandon Lopez, 28, was arrested for leaving the scene of a crash and driving with a suspended license on May 27, according to Florida Highway Patrol. COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — At least one person was injured in a crash on Interstate 75 in Collier County on Thursday night, officials said. FORT MYERS, Fla. – One person was seriously injured in an I-75 motorcycle crash near Daniels Parkway Thursday evening. Man gets 12 years in prison for Fort Myers crash that killed man, two dogs

FORT MYERS, Fla. – A man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for a crash that killed a man and two small dogs. The Fort Myers Police Department said Adam Walker plead no contest to DUI manslaughter, two counts of DUI causing serious bodily injury, and one count of DUI causing property damage. Car fire ignites on I-75 in Charlotte County

Florida Highway Patrol was reporting delays in the area. Charlotte County Fire and EMS did confirm no one was injured.
