Steven Becker and his friend from college had a big goal on their minds. IMMOKALEE, Fla. — The Immokalee Fire Control District is in the process of building a new facility. The new building will be on Useppa Drive in Ave Maria. One person shot in Immokalee neighborhood

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – One person was shot in an Immokalee neighborhood near 3rd Street and Eustis Avenue Saturday evening. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the person shot was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Crime scene tape is wrapped around a home located at 407 S 3rd Street. Detectives continue search for killer in 2003 Collier County cold case

IMMOKALEE, Fla. – Investigators are asking for information on an unsolved Collier County murder from nearly 18 years ago. According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, the body of Catalina Lechuga was found near Rose Avenue and East Delaware Avenue in Immokalee in 2003. A deputy with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office discovered the 39-year-old’s body in a wooded-area after they were flagged down by someone who found the body, officials said. IMMOKALEE, Fla. — Deputies are investigating a shooting that rang out in Immokalee on Tuesday, officials said. Kai Javier Peak, 18, Benjamin Martinez, 19, Isaiah Barrera, 17, and Alex Wilton, 16, were arrested for their involvement in the shooting at South 5th Street, arrest records show. Cape Coral man dies in Immokalee crash

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — A 59-year-old Cape Coral man died in a crash on State Road 29, north of Oil Well Road, Wednesday night, officials said. The man was traveling south on State Road 29 when he swerved into the northbound lanes, slamming into the front of a semi-truck, troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol said.
