North Port woman sentenced to 13 years for deadly crash after spring training game

NORTH PORT, Fla. – A North Port woman was sentenced to 13 years in prison for causing a deadly crash after a Braves 2019 spring training game. Samantha King also got 17 years of probation along with the prison sentence for two counts of DUI manslaughter and DUI with property damage, according to court documents. Drunk man caught driving the wrong way on I-75 in North Port

NORTH PORT, Fla. – A man was arrested after driving the wrong way on I-75 in North Port. The North Port Police Department said they caught Anthony Brinzo driving south in the northbound lanes of I-75 this week. Officers said he was driving at a slow rate of speed for about two and a half miles. He also started driving southbound in the median of I-75, almost hitting an unmarked patrol car that was conducting a traffic stop, NPPD said. Officer reunites missing parrot with owner after it flew out North Port home

NORTH PORT, Fla. – A missing African Grey parrot was reunited with its owner in North Port. The parrot named “Sierra” flew out the window of her owner’s North Port home on May 23, according to the North Port Police Department. Three days later and four miles away, a resident flagged down a North Port police officer. The officer found the bird and had originally seen a Facebook post about a missing bird. Thief steals golf balls from North Port Dick’s

NORTH PORT, Fla. – The North Port Police Department is searching for a suspect accused of pocketing six 12-count boxes of golf balls from a North Port Dick’s Sporting Goods store. The suspect was caught on store surveillance cameras swiping the boxes worth hundreds of dollars before walking out of the store without paying, according to the North Port Police. Police describe the suspect as a 5 foot 8 inch tall, 220 pound, white male.
