Woman mistakenly given six doses of Pfizer vaccine

A 23-year-old woman was mistakenly given six doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. The woman was administered the vaccine at the Noa hospital in Tuscany, central Italy, on Sunday. She has since been discharged from the hospital where she was being monitored for any adverse reaction, reported CNN. Pfizer seeks full FDA approval for COVID-19 vaccine

Pfizer/BioNTech are beginning the process of seeking full approval from the US Food and Drug Administration of its COVID-19 vaccine for people ages 16 and older. Pfizers’s vaccine is the first in the country to be assessed for full approval from the FDA, beyond current emergency use authorizations. Health experts working to determine if COVID booster is necessary
