Port Charlotte man arrested for vandalizing local Catholic school

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. – A Port Charlotte man was arrested for vandalizing a Charlotte County Catholic school. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office was originally searching for the suspect who caused $3,500 in damages at the Catholic school. Deputies identified and arrested Clayton Lynch for criminal mischief to a church. The incident happened on May 31, and the suspect was caught on surveillance vandalizing the church, deputies said. Port Charlotte sub shop manager caught on camera stealing from cash register

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.– The manager of a Port Charlotte sub shop is now facing felony charges after she stole from the business she was trusted to run.  The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office says Alyssa Gottleib, 28-year-old of Alva, stole $797.45 from the Key West Subs off Route 41.  “We trusted her,” said Zdenka Cramer, owner of Key West Subs. “I was really happy to have her.” Investigators said she took money that should’ve been going into the cash register of the store, that just opened in December 2020.  “We trust her. Charlotte County public school vaccine event on Saturday

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — Students aged 12 to 17 will be able to get vaccinated at Port Charlotte Middle School on Saturday. The Charlotte County Department of Health is offering vaccinations for students 12 to 17 on Saturday, May 22, at Port Charlotte Middle School from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Only Charlotte County Public School students will be able to get a shot. Florida man accused of pointing gun at women outside Port Charlotte bar

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – A Port Charlotte man was arrested after two women said he pointed a gun at them outside of the Paddy Wagon Bar in Port Charlotte just after midnight Monday. Manuel Torres Jr., 35, is facing multiple charges after the women told deputies he started yelling racial slurs towards them before pulling out a handgun, racking the slide and pointing it at them, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. Motorcyclist flown to hospital after Port Charlotte crash

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. – A motorcyclist was flown to the hospital after a crash on Veterans Boulevard and Peachland Boulevard in Port Charlotte on Saturday. Port Charlotte animal shelter in need of pet food donations

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. – The Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County is in dire need of donations for their animals and is asking for the public’s help. The animal shelter, located at 3519 Drance Street in Port Charlotte, said it is out of canned dog food and are running low on other products, like dry dog food, wet cat food. The shelter is entirely donation-based so they need people’s help to feed their animals.
