Traffic Homicide Unit investigates Sanibel crash that left one man dead

SANIBEL, Fla. – A man was killed after crashing his car into trees off of Sanibel Captiva Road early Saturday morning. The Sanibel Police Department arrived on scene at 3:35 a.m. and found the man’s car in the trees off the side of the road. Sanibel Fire and Lee County EMS responded to assist officers. The 30-year-old man was pronounced dead by EMS crews, according to Sanibel police. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office’s Traffic Homicide Unit took over the crash investigation. Tree trimmer shocked by electrical lines on Sanibel

SANIBEL, Fla. – A tree trimmer was shocked while cutting tree limbs near electrical lines on Sanibel Wednesday. Sanibel Fire Rescue District crews confirmed the tree trimmer was cutting near primary voltage electrical lines. He was flown to the hospital to receive urgent medical care, according to fire crews that responded. No other information was immediately available. Man accused of fondling himself in front of women on Sanibel beach

SANIBEL, Fla. – A woman was walking out the water at a Sanibel beach on May 7 when she screamed “oh my God” loud enough for her friends to notice. Daniel Schuman, 56, was allegedly standing about 30 feet away from her with his pants down around his thighs and his penis out, according to the Sanibel Police Department. Schuman is accused of looking directly at the woman, touching himself and smiling, an arrest report states.
