CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. [WFLA] – State wildlife officials have launched an investigation after photos emerged of a young man holding a tiger shark in the waters of the Chassahowitzka River.
The man in the photo said he is not the one who caught the shark. Instead, he said he saw a man in the river with the shark behind his boat and asked to take a picture with it.
The pictures went viral with thousands of views — some are very critical of the young man’s choice to pose with the shark.
Officials with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said they are aware of the incident.
